Portfolio — Design

Ink on paper,
mostly.

Handbooks, campaign posters, menus, icons — design that had a job to do and a deadline to make.

Student Handbook
Visual Identity

Brand Print Publication

The student handbook is the single most-distributed print piece the association produces — the 2019–2020 Survival Guide ran 120 pages, redesigned cover to cover and handed to every incoming student. It had to look like something worth keeping — not recycling by week one.

Cover-to-cover design across multiple editions — the 2019–2020 Survival Guide, the 2020/21 handbook, and onward. Each edition built a system of consistent typography, structured layouts, and a colour palette that carried across print and digital. The same visual language later informed the email bulletin rebuild and event materials.

Campus Campaigns
& Event Posters

Print Social Campaigns

Years of event and campaign creative — drag bingo at the Gateway (the campus bar, now demolished but never forgotten), federal election engagement, Calgary Flames student nights, clubs week, and campus safety programs. Every piece had to fit the brand and still stand out on a crowded campus corkboard.

Each campaign shipped in multiple formats at once: tabloid posters for the walls, squares for Instagram, wide crops for campus TV screens, rack cards for the resource centre. One idea, five canvases, usually one week.

Menus, Icons
& Side Quests

Menus Illustration Zine

Menu systems for campus food and beverage venues — the Odyssey, the coffee shop every student of the last decade knows by name, plus the Station and campus catering — and the digital signage that promoted them. Seasonal feature boards, TV-screen ads, and a custom icon set so the food programs had their own visual shorthand.

King Creatus — a self-published zine that teaches the principles and elements of graphic design through a hand-drawn wizard king of creativity. Because the best way to prove you understand design fundamentals is to explain them with a mustachioed pencil monarch.
